Launched in 1947 and originally known as Helen & Chet's Polka Party, it's still broadcast Sundays from 8:30AM-Noon on WTOD Radio. Sharon Zablocki continues on with the Toledo Polka Tradition - now in its 60th year. Listen to all the great local Polka bands from Toledo and the groups from around the country. Through the course of decades, producers and announcers for the radio program have come and gone, but the major focus and purpose has remained the same. The prime directive is to help preserve and promote Polish customs and heritage by assisting in keeping alive the precious and meaningful heritage that is treasured by folks of Polish descent. Having all those priceless traditions remain in practice and providing a means to pass them down to the next generation is our mission.

This show has had the largest audience of any Sunday program on the station and #1 in the Toledo Market in its time period.
Janet & Rob spin a variety of Polish music (most of which is recorded in Poland) in addition to providing cultural and historical perspectives including background material on Polish traditions.

The Echoes of Poland was founded in the fall of 1967 when Paulina Tul-Ortyl was asked to prepare a group of young people to perform some of the traditional aspects of the Polish Christmas celebration. Over the years,  Mrs. Ortyl has instilled in her members a great sense of pride and love for Polish folk customs through dancing and singing. A non-profit organization, the Echoes of Poland have performed at festivals and concerts throughout the United States and in Canada.
